EDIT: The tops and knits carrying us through the final leg of winter

No offence to our chunky jumpers, but we’re sooooo over it. Our t-shirts and singlets are looking extra tantalising in these last few weeks of winter, so we’ve been playing around with styling these more summery items despite it still being skivvy-and-slippers weather here in Melbourne.

We were partly inspired by a recent visit to Incu to see their new in-house spring collection, which had a 90s-meets-00s casual flavour to it that we’ve come to expect from their design ethos. Lots of layering, striped baby polos, slinky jersey draping…all ideal informal foils to structured tailoring, loafers, “hard” pants and crisp shirting. The influence of that Spring 2023 Miu Miu collection continues to exert itself!

The key to wearing more of your lightweight tops is to layer, layer, layer. We’ve both been living in these lightweight jersey and these merino long sleeves from COS lately — they’ve given us both more mileage out of our tees - both long-sleeve and short-sleeve — over the last few weeks.

But there are so many great options out there (by local labels, no less), so this week, Soph has pulled together an epic collection of interesting tops perfect for layering. Here’s to seeing us through the last gasp of frost and into the early sighs of spring.

In this week’s paid newsletter, you’ll find:

  • 6x oversized long-sleeve tees with juuuust the right amount of slouch

  • 5x 90s-inspired layered tees-over-sleeves options

  • 4x retro sport-inspired long-sleeve tops

  • 2x perfect minimal skivvies to layer

  • 2x graphic tees we’ve got in our shopping carts right now

  • 4x dressier long-sleeve tops perfect for work or date night

  • 2x printed/graphic skivvies ideal for layering (or wearing solo)

  • Just one perfect deep V-neck knit to layer over a tee

  • 3x polos crying out for their time in the sun

  • 6x knitted vests that were born to go over a tee, shirt or skivvy

  • 5x fine-knit cardigans to wear as tops, for when you’re fresh out of ideas

Happy browsing, and thanks for being here with us.

Sophie and Annie

xoxo
